A bare `raise` re-raises the active exception with its original traceback intact, so the stack trace points to where the error first occurred. Writing `raise e` constructs a new raise point, so the traceback starts at your except block - making debugging harder because you lose the original call site. Always prefer bare `raise` when you just want to log and propagate.
