Conditional aggregation with CASE is the standard SQL pivot technique - transforming row values into columns without a proprietary PIVOT keyword. For each product, SUM(CASE WHEN month='Jan' THEN amount ELSE 0 END) sums only January rows, producing a Jan column. Same for Feb. This works in every major database and scales to any number of columns - just add more CASE expressions.
